TriStar and Compact Vacuum Cleaner Bags (Paper And Cloth)

The vacuum cleaner now known as the TriStar vacuum was called the Compact vacuum from 1946 until 1981. Both the Compact and the TriStar models have always taken the same style paper and cloth bag. The paper bag in the Compact and the TriStar vacuum cleaner is completely disposable and should not be reused. The cloth bag is actually a filter which helps to protect the vacuum cleaner motor from excess dust. You may be able to wash the cloth bag in warm water and mild detergent a couple of times, but too many washings will destroy the filtration capabilities of the cloth. We recommend you replace the cloth bag every couple of years or whenever it becomes excessively dirty. We also recommend that you replace the motor filter which is located under the cloth bag after every 6th paper bag change. Your TriStar vacuum cleaner was a sizeable investment. Protect it with periodic maintenance.
